Description

A great opportunity to hunt cow elk in the beautiful Bighorn Mountains of Wyoming! This is a fully guided 2:1 hunt, with all meals and lodging provided. This 3-day hunt is an excellent opportunity to fill the freezer while enjoying a moderately easy and accessible hunting experience. The outfitter can accommodate hunting parties of up to six. This is a draw-license hunt, and non-resident applications must be submitted in January. While leftover licenses may occasionally be available, we strongly recommend applying in the draw, as leftover opportunities are becoming increasingly limited. Classification details:

Live weight for cow elk are 400-600 lbs. Mature cows will be targeted. Licenses required by the state of WY are not included in the hunt price listed. When applying for the draw, a conservation stamp (appx. $21.50) is required in addition to the license cost paid at the time of application (appx. $288). The application fee must also be remitted when applying (appx. $15). Non-resident elk applications are due in January.

Weapons description:

Hunters should be prepared to shoot up to 300 yards.

Deposits are not refundable. When you make a deposit or payment that money is used to reserve your adventure dates and we cannot sell them to anyone else. If for some reason you have to cancel, you will lose your deposit and any payments you have made. If you are concerned that you might get sick or otherwise have to cancel, we suggest buying trip insurance. There are insurance companies that specialize in providing insurance policies for outfitter bookings and hunts. One such company we recommend is globalrescue.com. It is also our policy, depending on the adventure you booked and at our discretion, that if you have to cancel and we are able to book a replacement for you at the regular price we will work with you to apply your deposits to another adventure. Please note that we cannot refund or roll state or government license fees, application fees, draw results, or tags.

The outfitter will provide a field kitchen in a heated cook tent where home-style meals are prepared daily to keep you fueled for the hunt. It's a warm, welcoming spot to gather, eat, and share stories after a long day in the field.

This hunt will be primarily done with elite mountain hiking horses and can even be done on side by sides. Hunters must only be in moderate hiking shape as most areas can be accessed via horseback. This is a spot and stalk hunt as the elk will be in large herds.


Transportation (To/From Basecamp)

Transportation will not be provided to and from the airport however it will be provided throughout the duration of the hunt. Hunter will need to rent a car to get to camp.

Description

Hunter must be prepared for some cooler weather for this hunt. Weather can be moderate with sun, or snow may be present. Outfitter will use trucks for field transportation. Once elk are located, hunter will need to be ready to hike 1-2 miles to get into position to make a shot. Outfitter will supply quartering and skinning of game for transportation. All meat processing is the hunter's responsibility. Full gear list to be provided if requested when booked.
